Frequently Asked Questions

Do you Use a Studio for photos?

For the most part, I am a natural light photographer. I do not do much in the way of "studio" portraiture. That being said, I do have my own private photo studio located in Denver. My studio has a lovely white brick wall and tons of natural light.

Are your rates Negotiable?

I want to help build you a package that you can afford, however the rates I quote you are the rates I need to charge and the time I need to spend to get the quality of work you see in my portfolio. My rates are created by taking an average amount of time photographing and editing my photos. They also account for an equipment allowance and my taxes. Occasionally I open my books to do mini-sessions, which are 20 minute photoshoots where I promise you at least 10 images and they come at a discounted rate. I also have been known to put out model calls for everything from maternity, to families, to engagements, where I offer a free shoot for something I am looking to put into my portfolio.

What should I Wear?

Everyone asks this but I typically have the same answer: something you feel comfortable in. I think sunset shoots look exceptionally beautiful with flowing dresses or skirts, but honestly, you and your photos will turn out great no matter what your outfit choice is. If you're having anxiety, you can email or text me photos of options and I'm happy to help weigh in.

How long does it take to get my photos after the photoshoot?

This can vary greatly depending on season/workload, length of the shoot, intensity of the touch-ups, etc. Typically I try to get portrait photos out in under two weeks, brands out in 3-4. If you need your photos by a particular date, please communicate that before our session so I can plan accordingly.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I prefer Venmo, Paypal, cash or can even take personal checks.

Do you bring a second photographer for LARGE SHOOTS?

If it's needed, I can. I have occasionally brought another photographer with me, but I always pay second photographers, so that will affect your rate. I will let you know before you sign your contract if I recommend having two photographers for your shoot.

Are you available for travel?

Yes, yes, yes!

How will i receive my files? Do you sell prints? What about photo albums?

You will receive digital files only. I do not sell prints or albums, and trust me, that's a good thing. Photographers selling prints are making a commission on your files, in order to put in the work of having them printed. I prefer for you to order your prints and save the money. I'm happy to recommend my favorite printing companies though!

I'm incredibly camera shy, can you help me to be more comfortable for our photoshoot?

Yep. This is what I do! I am formerly a professional art director and have plenty of experience helping you get the best photos. So relax, take a shot of tequila if you like and just let me do the directing!
